Profile Performance: The automotive aftermarket's best name in LED Lighting and when you're ready to color coordinate with an upgrade that's truly eye catching, their wheel ring kits are a stand out choice. Profile is working hand-in-hand with the industry's experts to produce the performance that we all expect. Yeah, there are less expensive options on the market and if they were worth considering, we'd carry them instead --but we're confident the Pixel wheel ring setup from Profile is worth the premium and then some.
Durability: First of all, these things mount inside of the wheels on your vehicle. You can't expect to install some floppy no-name piece of crap in there and then expect it to hold up over time. After a month subjected to road vibration, moisture, debris: if its inferior it's going to fall apart. The Pixel's parts are made of thick extruded aluminum. All of the hardware is stainless, and the LED gear is all waterproof. While they're going to look pretty sitting in a parking lot, these things are designed for cars and trucks that are going to get driven. All Pixel Rim Rings are assembled and quality controlled in Atlanta, Georgia.
Intensity: Look, we know you don't need these to be bright because your wheels need to see where they're going at night--we want 'em to be bright because overkill is under rated! We'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but lets just say nobody is going to miss your drive by when the Profile rings are illuminated. Not only that, but they utilize anywhere from 80-100 individual LED's per ring (depending on the diameter)--about twice as many as the other options on the market use.
Color Changing: Like the rest of the products in the Profile line, the LED chips on the Pixel Rim rings are fine tuned to produce amazingly clear and accurate colors. Whether you're using the PrismPilot controller or Morimoto's XBT Bluetooth setup, you can easily set them up in whatever shade of red, blue, green, teal, purple, pink you're after. Gotta color coordinate!
Wiring: Each Pixel Ring has a simple 4-Pin RGBW input cable that's ten feet long, generally enough to make a clean run from front-back on any vehicle. If you need extra length, there are optional plug-n-play extensions available with the kit. All input wiring is insulated in TechFlex mesh for a clean OEM-like appearance and durability.
Installation Summary: Lift your vehicle. Remove the wheel. Locate at least three positions on the dust shield behind the brake rotor for the L-brackets. Mark, drill the shield and ring for the brackets. Screw together. Run the input wiring to your controller. Power on, Roll out! In all seriousness, it's really not rocket science but if you don't feel confident working with basic measuring and power tools: we suggest having these professionally installed.
Remote Control: First-time users will need to purchase an optional RGBW Controller. The Morimoto XBT is recommended for the best performance and color accuracy, has a killer Iphone/Android Bluetooth app, and three channels, which can be controlled independently. The Profile PrismPilot is a more basic RF-based setup that has four channels, but no smartphone app or independent output control.
